Petition to: The Honorable Dwight Duncan, Minister of Finance, Provincial Government of Ontario From: The Concerned Citizens of
Northern Ontario. Dear Minister, We feel the Ontario
Provincial Land Tax (Bill 151) is an unfair tax considering that little or no
services are received. We are
disappointed at the lack of information and consultation with ratepayers
regarding this tax. We strongly recommend further discussion between your
office, MPPs and the land owners before this tax is implemented in 2009. We
do not object to fair and equitable taxes but find that this legislation as
passed is unconstitutional.
